Creating a new player
Description:
Before entering the world you'll need a character and this is where to 'build' him. The dialog is laid out in a wizard format, simply follow the easy 4 steps to quickly generate a new player to enter the world with. Your player skills/abilities/health are determined by his PLAYER ATTRIBUTES, during creation you can 'create' attributes which best suit you for role-play.
At any time to go back to the top level, use the [Main Help] button below.
Options:
Step 1: Select a name for your player - To do this simply click on the text control where 'Nameless' is currently set and change it to your players name. This is also the name other players would see when you are in multi-player mode and you chat.
Step 2: Click button to roll some random player statistics - 'Player stats' are really your players most generic 'attributes' broken down into a quantifiable measure. Base stats include life points, spell points, strength, intelligence, wisdom, agility, constitution, charisma, base 'to hit' probability, damage on hits, defense adjustment, hidden detection probability, and magical resistance probability. All of the stats except life & spell points are based on a 0 to 100 point scale. But only hero's and gods ever get anything in the top 20% !
Step 3: Select gender, race, and class from pull-downs - Gender provides only minor adjustments to strength/agility and charisma. Race provides higher adjustments to more of the stats, and class provides the highest adjustments/penalties to your player. There are about 10 different races, and over 20 different classes (in the initial version) but ONLY those that your player has appropriate stats for will be visible to choose from. If you don't like any of them, you can go back to step 2 and 're-roll new stats' as much as you wish. Don't expect to ever see all selections though, as some have conflicting stats (require a maxiumum rather than miniumum level).
Step 4: Click button to SAVE your player (and enter game) or CANCEL to quit (and return to main menu).
